Best Deals for Robotic Vacuums
Over the last year, I’ve helped many friends and relatives purchase robotic vacuums for their homes. The common response that I’ve gotten from All of them is that they can’t believe they ever lived without one! Judging the feedback I’ve gotten from the various machines, as well as the extensive research I’ve done on the various models, here are a few points to keep in mind while making the decision as to which machine best suits your needs.
- Roombas definitely last longer than other machines, but they are pricier and customer service is not as great as some of the smaller companies trying to get their name out.
- Some “off brand” models offer similar perks (like app control, voice control etc) The difference is how long it will last.
- Roombas don’t do well on very dark floors and rugs. (it messes with their sensors) If you have a lot of dark floors, I do not recommend it.
So, What’s the best Robotic Vacuum out there?
Best Overall for Performance, Reliability, and Price is the Roomba 690. Recommended by Consumer Reports as the best value for Roomba. It is Wifi & Alexa enabled and has an impressive 3 stage cleaning system. We love the Full suite of intelligent sensors guides the robot under and around furniture to help thoroughly clean your floors.
Tip: Be sure to buy your Robot Vac with a credit card that doubles your warranty!

If you wish to get an upgraded machine, but don’t want to pay for the latest model ($1,000), get the Roomba 890. It runs the same 3 stage cleaning system as the 690, but has better mapping technology and dirt detection. Suction is five times stronger in the Roomba 890 than in the Roomba 690. And one other notable bonus is the dustbin full indicator on the 890.

The E series is similar to the 800 series with a few improvements: A- It runs longer – 90 min vs 60 min on the 890. (The 890 moves a bit faster to compensate) B- Because of its shape, it does get into tighter spaces better.
Usually retails at $599
The Roomba 960 has the Aeroforce 3-Stage Cleaning Motor which is 5 times stronger than the 600 series. The Roomba 960 uses iAdapt 2.0 navigation technology – it has a camera that builds up a map of the users home which includes walls, obstacles, and furniture. This prevents it from cleaning the same spots over & over, while leaving messy spots untouched.
